ABOUT ME

I am a PhD candidate in the department of English and the Center for Writing Studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, completing my dissertation remotely from Toronto. Through my work with the Education Justice Project, as a former coordinator and facilitator of writing workshops, my current research is situated at the crossroads of abolition, literacy studies, and higher education in prison. My other academic interests include community literacies, disability studies, sound studies, and multimodal composition.

In my spare time, I enjoy watching horror movies, learning to brew beer, and hanging out with my two cats: Shosanna and Calliope.
